We went to college together but never really knew each other, and we reconnected unexpectedly 5 years later. Our first date was totally like-at-first-sight and a sign of things to come: a trip to the farmers’ market, a meandering walk around providence where we discussed what superpowers we wanted and intersections of music and identity. On our second date, we exchanged baked goods and awkward glances and so much more conversation (and spent a lot of time kissing). For elizabeth’s part, when we were strategizing about dinosaur costumes she could wear to a party that weekend, she knew it was ON. Having survived a 9 month long-distance stint when shayn had to be in new york for work, we decided we could stand for a little domesticity in our relationship, and we now live happily in a very cute queer vegetarian co-op. It’s been 2ish years, lots of adventures, dozens of singalongs, and countless random cooking and fermentation projects, and we’re still figuring it all out, learning, growing, and being happy about each other, and we’re both pretty excited about all of this.
